English is a mandatory course to obtain the Victorian Certificate of Education.

The General Certificate of Education Advanced Level or A Level is one of the highest standards of Cambridge qualifications. By completing subject-based courses, students will graduate with the qualifications accepted by the educational bodies in the United Kingdom and the educational authorities of British Crown (dependent on the students completing secondary or pre-university education). Obtaining A Level or equivalent qualifications is generally required for university entrance in a number of countries.

With over 70 subjects available, students may choose according to their interests and their educational strengths. According to the data provided by Edexcel, Chinese students achieve higher scores in Math, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, and Business, which are core courses that HFLS has been offering. All courses are taught in English.
